Adult Programs Introduction
A young girl once asked a sad and lonely old man, "What is life's heaviest burden?" The older man replied, "To have
nothing to carry." We at Temple Adat Shalom believe that there is much to be carried. Our Jewish tradition teaches us
that we must pass on our traditions, our heritage, and our history to our children. But it also teaches us that Judaism
is a spiritual path which adults, too, should walk. All of us are on our own Jewish journey - some of us are just beginning, some of us have had more experiences, and some of us are looking for additional ways to enhance our journey, but ultimately we are all striving to help make the world a better place by connecting to one another and to God. We encourage you to join us on the journey by becoming involved with our numerous adult programs. Our adult education programs include lecture series, group discussions, visiting scholars, movies, study with the Rabbis and also sponsors special classes for men and women wishing to have a Bar or Bat Mitzvah or Confirmation ceremony. Our outreach program is committed to actively building a vibrant, inclusive congregational community that assists people in making Jewish choices in their lives. Our Sisterhood is affiliated with the national Women of Reform Judaism and our Men's Club is affiliated with the national Men of Reform Judaism. |
