Shabbat Services
Erev Shabbat Services
From September through June, Erev Shabbat services are held in the Marcus Sanctuary. The first service of the month is especially family-friendly, and includes special blessings for our children and for those celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and other simchas during the month.
Summer Courtyard Services
In July and August, we have easy-flowing and inspiring Erev Shabbat worship services in our open-air courtyard. Enjoy a snack and a schmooze with friends before services, and stay for a festive oneg after services. Come as you are and enjoy a peaceful respite from the week's work.
Tot Shabbat
Tot Shabbat is our most child-friendly of services, designed to teach even the youngest children about the joy of Shabbat. Lasting about 30 minutes, the service is open to all. Temple membership is not required, and families are welcome to participate whether or not their children are enrolled in our Early Childhood Center.
Shabbat Morning Services
Except for Bnei Mitzvah days, we have Shabbat morning services in a hybrid format that is welcoming, engaging, and convenient. You can join our hybrid services in-person or via Zoom on Saturday mornings and participate in having honors including Torah blessings, readings, and discussing the weekly Torah portion along with those in the Sanctuary!
All are welcome and no prior knowledge is required. We recognize that with the pandemic and the challenges of life in general that congregants should have the ability to worship with others in a manner they feel comfortable with.
Torah Treks
Periodically, we have Torah Treks -- Shabbat morning hikes that include a full Torah service with a mini Sefer Torah. Torah Treks are modest hikes with stops along the way for blessings, songs and reflections, followed by a picnic oneg. These special Shabbat hikes are led by our clergy and lay leadership in place of a regular Shabbat morning service and allow for worship that brings us closer to nature and takes advantage of our Southern California weather.
